What is iZiAiR index?
iZiAiR is a five-level baseline aims to measure, interpret and improve Indoor Air Quality. It takes into account the main indoor air pollutants and parameters of interest: temperature, humidity, carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), fine particles (PM) and volatile organic compounds (VOC's).
Using data provided, iZiAiR makes recommendations to help managers and occupants to eliminate, or to reduce to an acceptable level from a safety point of view, the contaminants that have an adverse effects on health and well-being.
Why improve Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) inside buildings?
We spend over 80% of our time in a closed environment, where indoor air can be up to 8 times more polluted than outside! Besides, modern buildings are increasingly constructed to be airtight and they are therefore more exposed to this indoor pollution. Thus, indoor air quality has become a major health and environmental concern for the population, public authorities and real estate developers.
