iZiAiR indoor: Nexelec’s IoT solution for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) depends on many factors: multiple sources of indoor pollutants, ventilation conditions, immediate outdoor environment, building characteristics or occupants’ activities and behaviors.
The analysis of IAQ is thus a complex and technical issue, often difficult to understand and manage.IZIAIR index was designed to address this challenge by bringing an unique and simple IAQ solution.
This baseline was developed by NEXELEC to make IAQ accessible to the occupants, IoT platforms and applications, property managers and service partners.
IZIAIR offers to all NEXELEC Partners the benefits of a turnkey Indoor Air Quality solution:
An easy, fast and seamless integration of the Indoor Air Quality building block
The same user experience for everybody
Easily readable and interpretable data for the manager
Information and advice given to the user to improve Indoor Air Quality
What is iZiAiR index?
iZiAiR is a five-level baseline aims to measure, interpret and improve Indoor Air Quality. It takes into account the main indoor air pollutants and parameters of interest: temperature, humidity, carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), fine particles (PM) and volatile organic compounds (VOC's).
Using data provided, iZiAiR makes recommendations to help managers and occupants to eliminate, or to reduce to an acceptable level from a safety point of view, the contaminants that have an adverse effects on health and well-being.
Why improve Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) inside buildings?
We spend over 80% of our time in a closed environment, where indoor air can be up to 8 times more polluted than outside! Besides, modern buildings are increasingly constructed to be airtight and they are therefore more exposed to this indoor pollution. Thus, indoor air quality has become a major health and environmental concern for the population, public authorities and real estate developers.
Furthermore, Indoor Air Quality is an essential and necessary element to analyze building environmental parameters. Air analysis data allow property managers and developers, social landlords and communities to improve the comfort of occupants while optimizing the energy efficiency and maintenance of the buildings.
